For subcontractors

Send it once. Keep it current.

If a general contractor asked you to submit documents through Works, this page explains what is happening and what you need to do.

You got a request. Here is what it is.

A general contractor you work for is tracking subcontractor documents in Works. The request came from them, not from us.

01

What they are asking for

Usually a certificate of insurance, your contractor license, a signed indemnity agreement, and a site safety plan. The exact list depends on your scope of work on that project.

02

How to submit

The email contains a link to a form. Upload the documents there. No account to create, no software to install, nothing to buy.

03

What happens next

The contractor sees your documents as current. You stop getting reminder emails about that project until something expires.

Why this is better than email

The old way is that four different generals each ask you for the same certificate of insurance, at four different times, and each one lands in a different inbox. Then one of them cannot find it in March and asks again.

Here the document lives in one place, with its expiry date attached. When it is about to lapse you get told before someone stops your crew at a gate, rather than after.

Using it for your own company

Subcontractors run Works too. Same platform, same price, configured for how a sub actually works rather than for a general contractor.

Your people

  • Every employee and every certification in one place
  • Alerts before a card expires
  • Training delivered and recorded automatically
  • One answer when a general asks who is qualified

Your paperwork

  • Your insurance and license held once, current
  • Send the same document set to every general
  • Safety forms your crews fill out from a phone
  • Every submission searchable later

Your jobs

  • Track work across multiple generals
  • Site-specific safety plans generated for each
  • Know what is due before somebody chases you
  • Configured for a trade contractor, not a GC

Stop sending the same certificate four times a year.

Fifteen minutes to see whether it fits how you work.
